Meze to Boujans sur Libron

Meze Harbour as we cycled away in the morning.

A good day mostly surrounded by acres of vines amidst very pretty small chateaux and farmhouses. In some places the swifts and swallows where so numerous they dive bombed us as we rode along the country lanes and at times we even had to take evasive action. Sadly there were several who hadn’t quite made it when playing dive bombers with the cars. We went through several familiar sounding wine producing villages, Pomerols, Florensac, St Thibery

We had stayed there last year and quite apart from being on top of a pretty steep hill, it had some fairly unattractive people hanging around the outskirts. It was the only time in France that we felt we were about to be mugged. Anyhow, with some very complicated map reading which for a change mostly worked we edged our way around to the North through acres of vines

next to the sanatorium and we think must have been mostly used by relations of patients staying there. For no apparent reason it was exceedingly good value. We also had an awfully good dinner which was a culinary work of art.
